(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – Yesterday didn’t bode well for one web host in particular. Netregistry, one of Australia’s top web registrars reported that a DDoS attack had caused technical issues on its network, specifically causing downtime for one of the company’s servers, Zeus Dynamic.
Netregistry is a notable provider of web hosting, VPS, online marketing, design, and e-commerce.
The attack resulted in “Timeout Errors” for users attempting to visit hosted sites on the effected server.
“Our engineers are working on solutions that will allow us to bring zeus-dynamic services back online, without affecting other client facing services,” Netregistry stated concerning the attack.
Netregistry continued, “This work has been going on all day, and will continue overnight. At this point in time we cannot give an accurate estimate of when the Zeus Dynamic services will be brought back online via the Telstra internet service provider connections.”
Despite the attack, NetRegistry said that no data was lost in the downtime. For more information on the occurrence, visit: http://www.netregistry.com.au/support/articles/unscheduled-network-connectivity-problems-shared-and-vps-hosting-1030am-26th-september-2011
