(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Zombies have invaded the U.K. game charts – marking the top spot with the release of Dead Island: Riptide.
Despite what sounds like much success, that pales in comparison to how the title’s predecessor performed. According to a report on Gamespot.com, Riptide has sold less than half of what the 2011 original sold during its release (ouch!).
That’s not taking anything away from the game, though. It’s still very early on. In February, Koch Media announced that the original had sold over 5 million copies.
We highlighted Riptide last week. While we like the gameplay, there’s still quite a bit of bugs and things game developer Deep Silver didn’t fix from the first.
Other top selling games via the Top 20 UK chart include titles such as Injustice: Gods Among Us (#2), Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen (#3), Star Trek (#4) and Tomb Raider (#5). Watch a trailer for Dead Island: Riptide below:
