(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Destiny’s beta is right around the corner and new information had surfaced giving users a sneak peek into what they can expect to see later this week.
IGN reports that a letter was sent to GameStop employees, revealing that the beta will feature four story chapters, four competitive multiplayer maps, a co-op Strike, and a “huge world to explore with your own unique Guardian.”
For those wanting in on the beta, a code is required, which you can get by pre-ordering the game. The PS4 and PS3 will be receving the beta first starting on July 17th, with the Xbox consoles following on July 23rd. The beta ends for all platforms on July 27th.
Bungie notes on it blog that users should expect for things to go wrong while playing because, after all, it is a beta testing.
“The Destiny Beta is a test. Make no mistake. This isn’t some circus stunt. This is science – and you’re the lab rat,” said the developer.
“We’d love to tell you that everything will go according to plan, but that wouldn’t be any fun. That wouldn’t teach us a thing. Even if the Beta is working perfectly, one of the alpha-geeks in the operations center is gonna kick it to see if it still works. Fortunately, we’ll be going to great lengths to keep you informed and keep you in the game.”
Destiny is set to be released on September 9th for the PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.
