(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Bungie, the popular game developer behind the Halo franchise is readying its next big release in the form of Destiny. The company last week provided a preview trailer for the highly anticipated title and more information is coming to light as time progresses.
“Everything changed with the arrival of the Traveler. It sparked a Golden Age when our civilization spanned the solar system, but it didn’t last. Something hit us, knocked us down. The survivors built a city beneath the Traveler, and have begun to explore our old worlds, only to find them filled with deadly foes,” describes the game developer via destinythegame.com.
In the title, users are tasked with defending what’s described as “the last safe city on Earth.”
But despite anticipation for the game and some speculation that it could be released sometime this year, that’s not the case. It now appears the title will arrive in 2014.
“Activision has not included [Destiny’s] launch in its 2013 outlook and there should be no speculation or expectation of a different result,” stated Activision Blizzard in a press release, according to a report from Joystiq.com.
With that said, it appears Halo fans will just have to hold tight just a bit longer for something that promises to be super cool.
