(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Blizzard has unveiled new drop rate fixes for its popular hack and slash dungeon crawler, Diablo III. Announcing the move on Thursday, the company stated “Today’s hotfix has increased the Neph drop rate for all acts in Inferno. Bosses are now guaranteed to drop at least 1 rare with 4 stacks of Nephalem Valor and 2 rares with 5 stacks.”
Specific drop rate changes affect Hell Acts III and IV along with Inferno Acts I through IV. You can check them out here in Blizzard’s blog post regarding the matter.
Users can also expect a smoother gaming experience. A crash that would occur at times when players utilized environment objects including lecterns and chests has been fixed. Ground paths are also clear for more adventuring. “Fixed a bug with several items that would allow those items to block pathing when dropped on the ground,” commented Blizzard in the post.
Meanwhile, the company announced on Wednesday that it was delaying its upcoming 1.0.3b patch. Some of the previously planned changes for that patch have now been integrated into hotfixes. Hotfixes are commonly used to update game systems on a live basis.
The popular PC game creator previously rolled out patch 1.0.3a, a fix that addressed game bugs pertaining to service crashes, leveling exploits, achievement links and more.
The launch of Diablo III was highly anticipated and the game has set record sales since making its market debut in May. Just earlier this month, the game made a big change by implementing its Live Auction House, a platform that lets players sell game items based on actual currency.
