(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – On Monday, Blizzard Entertainment revealed some new screenshots of the upcoming Reaper of Souls expansion pack.
The screenshots show a new area added to the game, new monsters, and a new crusader class, as shown on Gamer Headlines.
The new area added to the expansion pack is the Blood Marsh, a dark and eerie place that looks similar to Diablo 2’s Black Marches, just more…bloody.
The Crusader, a heavily armored holy warrior, seems to be a rework of the Paladin class that ha a big shield, blunt weapons, and heavy plate armor.
“When we added a new class, we looked at it and we’re like, well, he’s clearly this big guy with armor and a shield, but we have two strong melee characters already. We can’t just add another. That would be replacing or duplicating a similar experience for players. So we decided to allow him to be powered by this righteous wrath, this kind of mystical ability,” stated senior game designer, Andrew Chambers, to IGN at BlizzCon.
The developers of Diablo III: Reaper of Souls promised to give users a darker tone for this pack as well as more forests, dark caves, and dungeons, and this seems to be exactly what they are doing.
