DNA Digital Acquires Your Name Hosting

(Ping! Zine) – Byron Bay company DNA Digital has acquired Melbourne’s Your Name web hosting service, establishing it as one of the largest web hosting and design companies in the region.

Director Dylan O’Donnell recently brokered the deal with Jai Edwards who also owns and operates the highly successful Bar Sushi restaurant chain & Sebastian Banc Hair Salon in Albury-Wodonga. While Your Name’s value has not been disclosed the deal has doubled DNA Digital’s already strong customer base and revenues.

DNA Digital started in Albury-Wodonga, where O’Donnell operated for almost a decade at the technical helm of DragNet Internet Services where he helped the network extend from small local ISP to a fully national network. When management changed at DragNet in 2008, Dylan and his wife Anna moved to Byron Bay and decided to expand with DNA Digital.

“I miss Albury, mostly my friends and the river where we still own a house nearby. It was a bit of a clichéd seachange but Byron Bay also has a very low average wage compared to the rest of Australia. I had no choice but to basically build my own job. The area is increasingly being known as an ‘entrepreneur hotspot’ and there are some amazing people and businesses here.”

Since moving to Byron Bay he has managed operations for DNA Digital and SmartClix Australia, a high-end Internet marketing company while studying at night. O’Donnell recently completed a Masters of Information Technology at Albury’s Charles Sturt University and is eligible in 2011 for his second Dean’s Award for consistently high marks.

“It’s been a busy year for me and the whole team, but I try to find some time to just play guitar or swim at the beach.” O’Donnell says “It’s important for us all to feel relaxed and comfortable to design, develop and support our clients who are some of the best businesses in Australia. That’s why we operate in Byron Bay, and our clients love to visit the area.”

DNA Digital opened its first pubic office in Ballina, NSW in 2009 before moving to their current office in Middleton Street, Byron Bay in early 2010. They provide web design and development services, web hosting and are Google Certified Partners. Recently DNA Digital has been running mentoring sessions through the Northern Rivers Business Enterprise Centre where Dylan O’Donnell has been helping small businesses with online strategies.
