(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – Network virtualization was recently made a primary focus of hosting provider DreamHost. On Monday, Nicira announced that the company had chosen to integrate within its NVP (Network Virtualization Platform).
The move allows DreamHost’s services to make use of the network provider’s OpenStack data center facilities.
“NVP not only gives us flexibility and operational efficiency with our network infrastructure, but it also provides us with a platform for innovating novel network and security features for our customers,” commented DreamHost VP of Software Development Jonathan LaCour in a press release regarding the matter.
Meanwhile, another top web host that already relies on the company’s NVP solution includes Rackspace.
Among the network’s features are security, scalability, workload place and more. DreamHost provides users with services such as web hosting, domain registration, VPS and dedicated servers. In February, the company partnered with City Year to assist a local Los Angeles elementary school with a variety of on-campus volunteer projects.
