(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Dropbox was down early Thursday as users scrambled to access files stored via the popular cloud platform.
Instead of the usual, clients received an error message when attempting to access the Dropbox homepage. “Something went wrong. Don’t worry, your files are still safe and the Dropboxers have been notified. Check out our Help Center and forums for help, or head back to home,” read the message.
The company signaled via its Twitter page that it was aware of the issue and working to resolve it. “Site it still down. No ETA. Will keep you updated as I know more. Very sorry!” noted the company.
A report from Tech Crunch, meanwhile, described the outage as “widespread.”
Dropbox is among the most popular cloud storage services, competing with the likes of Google Drive, iCloud, SkyDrive and others.
