(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Big price cuts could be on the way for 3 top consoles. According to a report by CNET on Monday, Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter predicted new costs would be revealed for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and maybe even the Wii U at this month’s E3 gaming conference.
The move would not be surprising. Both Microsoft and Sony plan to launch new devices in time for the holiday season (Xbox One and PlayStation 4 respectively). Nintendo, meanwhile, has struggled to gain market traction with the Wii – a device just released in November of last year.
Pachter noted he thought both Microsoft and Sony would drop their consoles by “at least $50” ahead of the fall season while the Wii U could either be cut by $50 or turned into a bundled package for $299.
E3 will kick off at the Los Angeles Convention Center on June 11th and conclude on the 13th.
