Electronic Arts: SimCity Glitches ‘Almost Behind Us’

(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Electronic Arts on Sunday provided an update to problems plaguing new release SimCity.

Via a blog post, Maxis label GM Lucy Bradshaw noted the developer had succeeded in minimizing game crashes by 92%.

The new SimCity was launched just earlier this month, introducing with in multiplayer functionality – something new to the popular city management series.

“A combination of optimizing our server architecture and response times, deploying these enhancements on both a series of new and the original servers and issuing a few critical client updates has achieved getting virtually everyone into the game and, once in, having a great time building cities and sharing regions,” stated Bradshaw.

Problems persisting for the game were so bad that it resulted in top retail giant Amazon pulling a purchased download of the game from its website. Watch the trailer for the new SimCity below:
