(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – The highly anticipated MMO known as EverQuest Next could arrive for the PS4 and other platforms. However, as of now, the game remains a “PC-orientated launch,” as noted game producer David Georgeson in recent comments, according to Eurogamer.
“Now, you’re dumb not to explore other options with a business of this type, but we’re very serious about developing for the PC. You know the company knows a lot about the PlayStation 4 – look at DC Universe Online and Planetside 2 – so we have a lot of people becoming extraordinarily knowledgeable with that box. We’re not adverse to the idea, but we’re not going down that path yet,” explained Georgeson recently during SOE Live in Las Vegas, Nevada, according to the report.
With EverQuest Next, Sony Online Entertainment is promising a new take on the MMO genre, partly giving gamers a central say regarding the game’s design.
The game developer has released a beta version of the EverQuest Next Landmark, something that allows players to actually design the game’s online content.
EverQuest Next will feature classes including Blademaster, Warrior, Wizard, Tempest and Rogue. A release date currently remains unknown.
