(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – A Google+ Statistics page shows that Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg is the most followed user on Google’s new social networking site. Zuckerberg currently has nearly thirty thousand followers.
That’s around ten thousand more than Google CEO Larry Page. Other popular Google+ users include Google Senior Vice President of Engineering Vic Gundotra and Google cofounder Sergey Brin.
Google unveiled the social network on Tuesday of last week. However, Google has yet to make signup available for everyone just yet. Signup currently requires a special invitation.
Currently, visiting and attempting signup of Google+ site reads, “Right now, we’re testing with a small number of people, but it won’t be long before the Google+ project is ready for everyone. Leave us your email address and we’ll make sure you’re the first to know when we’re ready to invite more people.”
Google+’s debut sets up a potentially high profile rivalry with leading social site Facebook.
