Facebook Introduces New Audio Recognition Feature To Android and iOS Apps

Facebook Introduces New Audio Recognition Feature To Android and iOS Apps(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Facebook has introduced a new feature on its mobile app making it easier for users to share information with friends.

The new audio recognition feature, announced on Wednesday, allows users to share what songs, movies, and TV shows they are watching when they post a status update.

When using the feature, the app identifies what you are listening to or watching by using the phone’s microphone.

“Here’s how it works: If you’ve turned the feature on, you’ll see an audio icon moving on the screen when you write a status update. If the feature finds a match, you can then choose to add the song, TV show or movie to your post,” says a post from the social media giant.

When sharing this information, your friends will be able to preview a 30-second clip from the song you are listening to and will be able to see what season and episode you are watching if you post a TV show.

This new feature will be released in the next few weeks for iOS and Android users.
