(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Facebook has implemented plenty of new features since its launch in 2003. A “Like” social plugin has been around for quite some time now, and while users have commonly pushed for a “Dislike” feature, the top social network may have something else up its sleeve.
According to a report from the Los Angeles Times, developer and blogger Tom Waddington recently discovered coding for a “Want” Plugin in the social site’s coding.
“Currently, publishing want actions is disabled, though the button does render,” commented Waddington in a blog post which also displayed a generated image of the possible feature.
A “Want” feature could possibly help users distinguish what products they might desire to purchase as the social networks looks to further expand its advertising platform. Facebook recently changed user profiles to display @Facebook.com emails as users’ primary addresses on the network. Although the feature can be changed, it did cause somewhat of a backlash among the site’s members.
