(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – The fight concerning patents related to various mobile devices is continuing between tech giants. Most recently, mobile phone creator HTC expanded a lawsuit against Apple to include even more patents.
What’s most fascinating is exactly where HTC obtained the new patents in question. Look no further than Apple iOS’s top competitor Google (via Android). According to reports, HTC recently received the new additional patents from tech giant.
So is the complaint against Apple an indirect attack from Google? Both Google’s Android and Apple’s iOS-based devices have dominated the smartphone market, and they have also been obvious competitors.
According to a Reuters report, HTC general counsel Grace Lei recently commented on the matter, stating, “HTC will continue to protect its patented inventions against infringement from Apple until such infringement stops.”
Meanwhile, HTC and Apple fighting each other is nothing new. In the past, through various lawsuits, the two mobile developers have accused one another of ripping off the other’s patent designs.
In July, the U.S. International Trade Commission found HTC in violation of patent infringement concerning Apple patents. However, the ruling was only preliminary. Overall, Apple has filed two suits against HTC. Despite the latest moves, it appears there are still plenty of upcoming developments in the fight for mobile domination.
