(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Over the weekend Square Enix debuted the first live gameplay footage of Final Fantasy XV at the Tokyo Game Show, revealing what may be the best visuals yet in the series.
In a recent interview with IGN, Director Hajime Tabata revealed much information about the game, including that it is more than halfway completed.
“In terms of percentage. in terms of how much development has been completed the game is at about 55%,” said Tabata.
He also added that a lot of the storyline has remained the same despite being in development for almost a decade.
“In terms of the story and background establishing elements to the story, those have not changed,” stated Tabata. He noted that there has been some minor changes over time, especially since changing the platform from Xbox 360 and PS3 to Xbox One and PS4 two years ago.
Final Fantasy 15 was originally announced as Final Fantasy Versus XII and has been in development for eight years now.
