(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Game developer Square Enix announced on Monday that Final Fantasy 4: The After Years has launched for mobile operating systems including iOS and Android.
The game, originally launched for mobile in Japan back in 2008, has undergone a redesign. New elements include recreated 3D polygon characters and graphics.
The title itself goes for $15.99 USD and iOS and Android users can access it via the Apple App Store and Google Play respectively.
“Several characters from FINAL FANTASY IV, including Cecil, Rosa and Kain, will be making a comeback inFINAL FANTASY IV: THE AFTER YEARS, with players being introduced to Ceodore, the son of Cecil and Rosa, as the central character. Moreover, the title sets forth different scenarios for each of its main characters, creating an epic new tale. Carrying over some of the same mechanics from FINAL FANTASY IV, the game allows players to enjoy additional unique features such as the “Age of Moon” and “Band” abilities. In addition, FINAL FANTASY IV: THE AFTER YEARS features the extensive story of all ten chapters is included,” stated Square Enix via a press release describing the game.
Square Enix previously released Final Fantasy 5 for mobile in September.
