(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – The world of fitness bracelets is heating up. With devices already including the Nike FuelBand and Jawbone UP, the field just got a bit more crowded.
Fitbit recently began shipping its Fitbit Flex bracelet – something that succeeds the company’s Fitbit One, a lifestyle tracker that owners can attach to their pockets.
The new wristband goes for just $99.95 – but what all does it include?
With it, users can track activity and sleep all while syncing the data wirelessly to mobile and desktop devices.
“If you want to turn fitness into a lifestyle, the One™ is for you. For starters, it never rests. During the day, it tracks your steps, distance, calories burned, and stairs climbed. Come nightfall, it measures your sleep cycle, helps you learn how to sleep better, and wakes you in the morning. The One™ motivates you to reach your goals by bringing greater fitness into your life – seamlessly, socially, 24 hours a day,” explains Fitbit via its website.
We think the wristband market is just now heating up. We’ll be surprised if bigger companies like Apple don’t eventually follow suit.
