(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Tech giant Microsoft is giving students an extra incentive to buy PCs. According to a recent CNET.com report, Windows-based developers including HP and Dell have offered personal computers that come along with free Xbox 360 consoles until the eighth of next month.
Similar deals have been launched in the past. And the inclusion of the popular gaming device isn’t the only thing that comes with a new computer. The offering also includes a $14.99 Windows 8 Pro option, an operating system that will become available in October.
Interested customers have to show proof that they’re students and the available systems must come at a price of $699 or above. In person, those interested can receive the offering Best Buy and Microsoft Stores. Aside from Dell and HP, the offering is also available online via Newegg.com.
Despite being released nearly seven years ago, the 360 remains increasingly popular among gaming enthusiasts. Earlier this year, Microsoft made the console available with Kinect for just $99 dollars through its store, Best Buy and select Gamestop retailers, an offering that required users to sign up for a subscription to Xbox Live Gold.
