(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Facebook and gambling? The two factors have historically not gone together but just recently, that changed. According to a Tuesday report from the BBC, the first application to introduce the use of actual cash has made its way onto the social network.
It’s a game platform called Bingo Friendzy and is exclusive to users in the United Kingdom. “Real money gaming is a popular and well-regulated activity in the UK, and we are allowing a partner to offer their games to adult users on the Facebook platform in a safe and controlled manner,” commented a Facebook representative in the BBC’s report.
Meanwhile, using the application requires age verification that users are eighteen years of age and above.
So could even more gambling apps be on the way for the world’s top social network in other countries including the United States? Such an issue remains to be seen due to complex laws that regulate gambling issues.
The application itself allows users to play popular Casino-oriented gambling games such as Bingo and slots. Gamesys, the maker of the application develops a number of other titles including Jungle Jump, Wonderland, Jackpotjoy Casino, Jalepeno Racers and more.
