(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – Today blogging software WordPress is representative of one of the most popular platforms to maintain one’s web presence. Just last week, data monitoring firm Pingdom reported that it was used to maintain 48% of the world’s top blogs including TechCrunch, Mashable! and GigaOM. Providing access to WordPress through hosting offerings is an important issue in the web hosting industry.
On Tuesday, hosting provider Go Daddy reported that two million installations of the platform had been successfully installed by its clients through the company’s application installer, Hosting Connection.
Among other popular applications that Hosting Connection allows users to install are Joomla, Drupal, Zen Cart and more. However, those count for just a total of 3.8 million applications available through the app installer. Discussing the matter in a press release, Go Daddy Senior Director of Hosting Scott Brown said his company made its app installer “in response to customers who were looking to quickly and easily install Web applications.”
“The goal of Hosting Connection is to make the installation of WordPress easier and faster for our customers and judging by the 2 million installs, we think it’s a solution customers wanted,” Brown continued. Go Daddy’s announcement regarding WordPress follows another milestone made by the company earlier this year when it revealed that its mobile application had surpassed a million downloads globally.
