Google Chrome Extension ‘Silencer’ Blocks Spoilers

Chrome Extension Silencer Blocks Spoilers on Facebook & Twitter(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Sure, accidental spoilers can be irritating. Say for example, if you’re an avid DVR’er. Thankfully, technology is making it easier to cover your ears when you don’t want to know the end results.

A CNET report on Thursday brought to our attention a Chrome extension we find quite fascinating: Silencer, something that’s fully capable of blocking out Facebook status updates and Twitter tweets pertaining to information you’re not ready to hear just yet.

“Mute dozens of terms from Game of Thrones, Mad Men, or Arrested Development instantly with one click!” explains the developer via its page.

Such examples of mutable terms include thinks like Yankees, Burning Man and whatever you chose to list. More information here (chrome.google.com).

Oh, and with the NBA Playoffs ongoing, we’re hoping you’re getting to catch the action live. But if not, DVR comes in handy and so might Silencer.
