(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Google is finally making its Glass eyewear available to the public, but only for a limited time.
Beginning on April 15th, users in the United States who are willing to shell out $1,500 can purchase Google Glass, says the tech giant via Google + blog.
“Our Explorers are moms, artists, surgeons, rockers, and each new Explorer has brought a new perspective that is making Glass better,” says the company in the post.
“But every day we get requests from those of you who haven’t found a way into the program yet, and we want your feedback too.”
For those interested in becoming a Google “Explorer”, spots open up at 6am PDT on Tuesday, April 15th. Users can purchase the eyewear from Google’s website.
Late last month, the company announced that it had partnered with Luxottica, the company behind popular brands such as Ray-Ban and Oakley, to make the Glass eyewear more stylish and personable.
“We see Glass as the next chapter in this long story. Light, simple and modular, Glass introduces new functionality as your glasses get smarter – but bringing your own style to Glass is just as important,” stated Google on its Google + blog.
The technology eyewear will combine Luxottica’s avant-garde designs with Google’s innovative technology to make the eyewear a revolutionary device.
