(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Since its release in October, many issues have occurred in Grand Theft Auto Online concerning cheats and “glitches” allowing players infinite amounts of money.
On Friday, Rockstar Games announced its plans to fix these issues by stating in a blog post, “In regards to reports of hacking and cheating in Grand Theft Auto Online, we are working on a fix that will remove any GTA$ gained through these blatant exploits, as well as prevent this from happening in the future.”
According to a report from the Examiner, GTA Online users received a stealth patch on Tuesday that fixed these glitches.
The update does not require a download, instead it automatically occurs once players start the game.
Rockstar also made it clear that they will be taking “appropriate measures” to punish users who are found having manipulated the game in order to receive the unearned money.
“We’ll also be taking appropriate measures very soon to punish anyone that we’ve discovered manipulating GTA Online in this manner (as we’ve stated previously, players who have received large sums of GTA$ but not engaged in any game manipulating through exploits can rest assured knowing they have nothing to fear).”
The GTA Online stealth update is currently available for Xbox 360 and PS3 users.
