Graphene-Coated Homes Could be Key to Energy Future

(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Is graphene paint the future key to powering the places in which we reside?

The proposal was recently put forward by scientists working at the University of Manchester, according to a report from the Telegraph.

Those testing it used wafers of graphene along with other materials to create solar-powered coats. Surprisingly, the graphene could go so far as to helping residences power appliances in addition to changing colors.

Working on the project is Professor Kostya Novoselov, a scientist who previously received the Nobel prize for working with the material. “What we have been doing is putting different layers of these materials one on top of the other and what you get is a new type of material with a unique set of properties,” he stated, according to the report.

Those on the project hope to develop a paint that will be used to coat homes.
