(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – As the threat of data breaches continues to escalate, companies around the world continue to be targeted with cyber attacks that they are not equipped to deal with.
Verizon reports that last year, over 700 million records were lost in data breaches, resulting in a total loss of over $400 million dollars.
To combat this threat and educate businesses on mitigating this risk, an increasing number of data security events are being held each year focusing on all facets of IT security for industry stakeholders to collaborate on.
Ground Labs, a developer of next generation data security software, has supported more than 10 data security events globally over the past year across locations such as Singapore, San Francisco, London, Nice, Tokyo, Dubai, Sydney, Toronto, and more.
Of particular focus is the security of payment card information covered under the scope of the PCI DSS. The PCI Security Standards Council responsible for the PCI SSC recently hosted its annual payment card industry community meetings covering major regions including the Middle East, Asia Pacific, North America and Europe of which Ground Labs was a key supporter of.
Ground Labs’ Director of Corporate Development, Stephen Cavey, believes that supporting these events serves a greater purpose beyond the opportunity to network with industry peers. “Cyber security is about defending our identities and data from cyber criminals. These gatherings of key security stakeholders are critical in enabling Ground Labs to truly leverage the community’s collective experience to prevent data breaches.”
Ground Labs’ data-centric security platform Enterprise Recon, empowers businesses to search for sensitive data across their network with low effort, and safeguard any data found before hackers ever have a chance to access it.
Across all 4 of the PCI SSC events, Ground Labs product experts from each regional office conducted live demonstrations of Ground Labs’ next-gen data detection and remediation capabilities for attendees to understand how devastating data breaches can be easily avoided, even for the largest and most complex corporate environments.
“It’s not realistic to think we can prevent cybercrime entirely, however through cooperation and knowledge sharing within the IT security community we can dramatically reduce the number of data breaches occurring globally, one network at a time.”
Currently supporting a roster of clients from over 80 countries, Ground Labs is continuing its ongoing effort to support the industry and fight cybercrime.
