(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Rockstar has been silent recently about the release of GTA 5 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC, leading many to believe that we will see an early 2015 release instead of a fall 2014 release as promised.
According to the Examiner, citing CVG producer James Jarvis, the lack of promotion means that the game will be delayed until next year.
“If it’s going to be this year, you want to build the hype up a good few months before the game comes out, and there isn’t much of the year left,” said Jarvis. “If the previews don’t happen really soon, there’s a possibility we won’t be seeing ‘GTA 5′ on new-gen, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, until next year.”
“If we take a look at the dates when we went to see the game before it was released, the first clue was on Jan. 31, 2013, a full eight months before the game came out.”
Since the E3 conference in June, Rockstar has remained relatively quiet about the game, especially during this month’s Gamescom, where many expected the developer to announce a release date or preview of the game.
Meanwhile, there has been multiple leaks from various retailers claiming that GTA 5 will release in November. TheePochTimes reported late last month that UK retailer GameSeek listed the release date as November 7th, while Danish retailer Coolshop.dk listed the release as November 14th, though later changed the date to December 31st.
