(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – On Sunday, the marketing firm Epsilon released a statement saying that it discovered an unauthorized system entry which exposed the names and email addresses of customers.
Epsilon specializes in email marketing and has many high-profile business clients including Tivo, Best Buy, Capital One, Chase, and Walgreens just to name a few.
Many companies have released statements reiterating that Epsilon does not have access to their customers credit card information and service profiles and that all information remains secure.
However, the breach is serious because the hacker now has the information of which companies Epsilon serves, making it easy to target an individual with a scam.
