(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Halo developer 343 Industries announced on Friday that the fifth installment in the series, Halo 5: Guardians would be released fall 2015, along with the Halo TV series produced by Steven Spielberg.
According to Xbox Wire, Halo 5 will run on 60 frames per second on a new engine that takes advantage of the Xbox One’s hardware and “ecosystem.”
“‘Halo 5: Guardians’ is obviously a big deal for us,” said franchise development director at 343, Frank O’Connor. “It’s the next chapter in the Master Chief saga. It’s also a big deal for us because of the transition to the Xbox One platform. All of the ‘Halo’ games — more or less — have added something to the Xbox ecosystem.”
More information about this year’s Halo “journey” will be discussed at Microsoft’s presentation at the Electronic Entertainment Expo on June 9th.
