(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Microsoft has given fans another reason to look forward to the holidays with its Halo 5: Guardians beta program.
The Redmond-based company revealed during E3 that its next hit game will be receiving a beta some time in December, though Joystiq recently reported that 343 Industries Bonnie Ross revealed that it will launch on December 27th and end on January 17th.
Players who want to secure their spot for the beta can purchase The Master Chief Collection on November 11th, which contains access to the beta, as well as the Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition and the anniversary update of Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4.
The upcoming game was first announced last month by developer 343 Industries, where Ross described the game as being a “bigger effort than Halo4.”
“That applies to the content and scope of the game, as well as the technology in what’s now a brand-new and more powerful engine. Certainly there are some core elements carried over from prior games, but we’ve invested a huge effort in retooling our tech to take full advantage of the Xbox One’s hardware and ecosystem to create worlds and experiences worthy of next-gen.”
Halo 5: Guardians is set to launch on the Xbox One in 2015, running on 1080p at 60fps.
