(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – On Tuesday, thousands of hosting customers woke to realize they had a new web host when Provo-based Heritage Web Solutions closed its doors for good without any notice.
Fibernet Corporation took over the hosting accounts, but sources say that they were not bought from Heritage. However, the two companies have been working together in a close business relationship.
The transition of over 30,000 customers from Heritage to Fibernet was not an easy transition. According to the Daily Herald, clients who called Heritage got a recorded message saying that as of now, all current customers are hosted by Fibernet and to contact them if any assistance is needed.
Although it is not clear why the company went out of business, it comes as a very unexpected occurrence since the company had recently been named in the top 1 percent of all hosting companies and was among the fastest growing companies.
