Hivelocity Adds Its Ninth Transit Provider to Network

(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – Hivelocity, a dedicated server, private cloud and infrastructure service provider to customers in over 130 countries, has further enhanced its network this week by adding Telia Italia Sparkle transit to its network.  The addition of Telia Italia Sparkle, also known as LANautilus or Seabone, takes Hivelocity’s network to nine total providers.

With a large and growing customer base in South and Central America, Telia Italia Sparkle’s prolific presence throughout Latin America was a major draw for Hivelocity.   Sparkle ranks 9th on the Dyn Baker’s Dozen list which ranks the top 13 performing fiber networks around the world.  The Hivelocity network now comprises 9 total providers including; Level 3, Time Warner Telecom, Global Crossing, XO, Cogent, GTT, Comcast, NTT and Telia Italia Sparkle, 7 of which made the top 13 list last year.

“Our goal when we select any new provider or any new peering location is to choose the best option that is going to provide the most benefit to our customers.  With customers in every corner of the planet having a diverse and global reaching network is essential.  Having Telia Sparkle on our network is going to have a huge positive impact on our customers throughout Brazil, Columbia and Latin America as a whole. We were seeing a huge surge in customer growth in these markets without Telia Sparkle so this addition should only accelerate that growth. ,” says Hivelocity Senior Network Engineer, Dan Protich.

Hivelocity is a privately held company that owns and operates it own data center where it provides managed services coupled with bare-metal servers, private cloud and IaaS. Hivelocity plans to announce the grand opening of a 2nd data center in the near future.  Details of this new facility’s size and location are still under wraps
