(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Web host Host.net revealed on Friday that it’d been acquired by private equity firm NOVACAP, a company based in Canada.
Although financial details weren’t disclosed, Host.net’s current management team will remain intact – something that should provide for a smooth transition.
“I’m extremely proud of how much Host.net has grown and accomplished in its history,” commented Host.net CEO Jeffrey Davis in a press release. Davis also went on signal that the partnership would allow for a portfolio expansion in addition to more company data centers along with new technology.
Meanwhile, NOVACAP Senior Advisor Ted Mocarski called Host.net an “extremely successful business,” noting the company was “poised the be at the forefront of the seismic changes that are reshaping the global landscape of Data Storage, Virtualization and Cloud Computing.”
Among Host.net’s solutions are colocation, cloud, disaster recovery, metro Ethernet and security. The web host has been around since 1996 and is currently based in Boca Raton, Florida.
