(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Go Daddy is expanding into the retail world. On Thursday, OfficeMax announced the web host would form at presence throughout its store locations – providing a way for customers to register domains and build web presences with on-site help.
The initiative, meanwhile, is geared towards small business and deems OfficeMax “the exclusive nationwide retailer” for the domain registrar.
“An in-store presence at OfficeMax gives Go Daddy the opportunity to help small business owners and entrepreneurs who are looking to grow their businesses,” commented Go Daddy VP of Marketing Teri Dhooge in a press release.
Dhooge also referred to the web as the “heart of today’s economy,” noting the partnership allows the company to “help more people leverage the power of the Internet – people who may not realize how easy it can be.”
One-year service bundles are provided but the company emphasized there were no monthly services fees.
On Sunday, February 3rd, Go Daddy is expected to air commercials during the Super Bowl pushing the company’s .CO domain name offering.
