(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – If your iPhone is jailbroken and you have recently downloaded the new iOS 8.1.1 update, you may have noticed that the update completely wiped the jailbreak from your device.
Here is how you can downgrade from iOS 8.1.1 back to 8.1, courtesy of iDigitalTimes.
- Visit ipsw.me and download iOS 8.1 IPSW for your device you are downgrading.
- Once the file is downloaded, plug your device into your computer and open iTunes.
- Go to the summary page and hold down the Option key, or Shift if you’re on Windows. A window will pop up that will bring you to where your saved IPSW file is.
- Once you open the file, your device will begin restoring to iOS 8.1.
Now you can re- jailbreak you iPhone again and continue using it how you like. It should be noted though that upgrading your OS will delete the jailbreak.
iOS 8.1.1 was released last week, improving stability and performance for the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S.
