(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Apple released its latest iOS update last week, aimed at fixing bug issues and security updates, though many users have been experiencing problems downloading iOS 7.1.2.
According to Design&Trend, there have been numerous reports of users not being able to install the update due to their devices either freezing halfway through the download or shutting down completely.
Some have noted that doing a hard reset, which is done by holding the home button and power button at the same time, allows the update to install correctly.
Other reports of issues include battery drainage, VPNs not working properly, and issues with the camera, iMessage, and Wi-Fi.
Additionally, a bug in the calendar app was found by a iPad Lithuanian user who claims holidays in certain countries of the app was incorrect. Holidays in Canada, Mexico, and Hong Kong were in the app instead of Lithuania’s holidays.
Apple has been notified of the bug and said they will fix it in the next iOS download.
iOS 7.1.2 was released on June 30th and improves iBeacon connectivity, bug issues with data transfer from 3rd party accessories, and issues with data protection class of Mail attachments.
To download the update go to settings> general> software update or connect your device to your iTunes account via your computer.
More information about the update can be found on Apple’s support page.
