(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Microsoft’s most anticipated update, Windows Phone 8.1, will bring a ton of new features including a action center, Skype integration, word flow keyboard, and the mobile assistant Cortana.
The update was expected to be released on June 24th, though that date can vary.
“The availability of the update will vary depending on your phone model, region, and mobile operator. But don’t worry, we’ll notify you on your phone when the update is available for your phone,” says the tech giant.
Here’s how to install Windows 8.1 to your smartphone:
- Make sure your phone is currently running on Windows Phone 8
- To download the update click Settings>Phone update>Download
- If you want to install it tap Show details then Install. The device will restart and then install the update automatically. This could take anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes depending on how many apps you have.
- Once the device turns back, click Done to finish the install.
