(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Next week HTC plans on demonstrating one of three new wearable devices, reports CNet.
A person with knowledge of the plans revealed that the Taiwanese company will demonstrate the device in Barcelona at the Mobile World Congress trade show.
The device, a smartwatch prototype, is said to be based on Qualcomm’s Toq smartwatch and will feature Qualcomm’s Mirasol display technology, Bluetooth, and a music player.
Additionally, HTC is also working on two other wearable devices, an electronic music playing bracelet and another smartwatch based on Google Now’s search feature.
“Many years ago we started looking at smartwatches and wearables, but we believe that we really have to solve the battery problems and the LCD light problems,” said HTC chairman Cher Wang.
HTC plans to start selling the devices by the end of the year.
