(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – Tech giant IBM recently expanded its cloud offerings via a company acquisition of provider Platform Computing.
The move gives IBM Platform Computing’s services that include solutions in the areas of cloud management, cluster, and grid.
Discussing the matter in a press release, IBM Systems Software GM Helene Armitage stated, “The acquisition of Platform Computing will help accelerate IBM’s growth in smarter computing – a key initiative in IBM’s Smarter Planet strategy – by extending the reach of our HPC offerings into the high growth segment of technical computing.”
Financial terms were not made public. The services are geared towards enterprise customers.
Meanwhile, IBM expects the move to benefit users with matters such as time reduction, infrastructure, and application acceleration.
