IceWarp has announced today that the Linux Version of its award-winning Messaging Server 11 is now available as Virtual Machines (VM) on CentOS5 32-bit and x64 as well as CentOS6 32-bit and x64. Each VM comes pre-configured with the recommended security, anti-spam settings, and anti-virus settings. It also includes a preinstalled and preconfigured iptables firewall, a database server with all the required IceWarp related databases, a sophisticated syslog analyzer, as well as a web-based system administration tool.
The package, deployed within 30 minutes by an average systems administrator, will be initially distributed to IceWarp customers in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Malaysia.
“We see rapidly growing demand for Open Source-based messaging solutions in the region,” says Dayan Jeremiah, CEO of IceWarp Asia-Pacific. “CentOS-powered packages are becoming especially popular. We are making the most of this trend by offering hassle-free deployment of the most feature-rich Linux -compatible messaging solution on the market – IceWarp.”
Like its Windows-based cousin released in February, Version 11 for Linux adds online meetings, enhanced document management, Dropbox integration, and enhanced VoIP to the core IceWarp email server, a messaging platform used by more than 50 million professionals worldwide. In addition to CentOS, it supports a wide array of other Linux-based platforms, including Debian, RedHat, and Ubuntu.
IceWarp customers in the region have already appreciated the flexibility and cost benefits of IceWarp/CentOS combo.
“The fact that my clients can use it on Linux CentOS liberates us from the need to pay for Microsoft Client Access Licenses (CALs),” notes Mr. Lim Seow Keang, CEO of MyTech, a leading Malaysian systems integrator and provider of tailored messaging, cloud and disaster recovery solutions. “It’s a stable, easy-to-manage system with good support structure. I can confidently recommend it.”
Says Ladislav Goc, President of IceWarp: “The strength of our company is in its extremely intelligent and innovative regional network of regional representatives and partners. Their innovative approach and deep understanding of local markets allows IceWarp to become a messaging solution of choice for the region’s rapidly growing economies.”
