(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – In the future, sweeping changes will take effect concerning the way people report emergencies. Recently the FCC revealed new ways people can contact 911, including reporting emergencies by text message, videos, pictures, and other data.
The new contacts methods are part of a “five step action plan” and were recently announced by FCC chair Julius Genachowski. By launching the new plan, the FCC is working with service providers, manufacturers, those involved in public safety, and other entities.
