In UK, Police Arrest LulzSec Suspect

(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – A suspected spokesperson for hacking group LulzSec known as “Topiary” has been arrested in Scotland, this according to UK police. The suspect is said to be a nineteen year old male.

Police are currently carryout out a search of the man’s house and bringing him to London.

Recently various law enforcement agencies have launched international investigations into hacking groups such as LulzSec and Anonymous in response to large cyber attacks.

The news follows Lulzec’s recent return to operation. LulzSec had previously announced it was calling it quits in late June.

Just last week, LulzSec succeeded in hacking the website of newspaper tabloid The Sun. The breach may have been a response to a recent scandal surrounding The Sun’s parent company, News Corporation. News Corporation is currently facing phone hacking allegations concerning its now defunct tabloid newspaper News of the World.

In the past LulzSec has gained attention for breaching sites belonging to Sony, the CIA, the U.S. Senate, PBS, and more.
