(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Popular photo sharing service Instagram is becoming more desktop-centric.
Last week, the company purchased by Facebook in April of 2012 announced the ability for users to view photo feeds on the web – something initially available on only mobile platforms.
“Your Instagram Feed on the web functions much like it does on your mobile phone. You can browse through the latest photos of people whom you follow with updates as people post new photos,” commented Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom in a blog post.
He continued in another portion of the text, “Simply put, we’ve brought a simple, powerful, and beautiful Instagram browsing experience to the web.”
The availability should be a welcome sign to Instagram users, some of whom have hoped for more desktop functionality for quite some time.
