Instagram Use Up Despite Bad Press

(Ping! Zine Web Tech magazine) – Shortly following what could be described as nothing short of a PR disaster, is popular photo sharing app Instagram actually finding itself making gains? That seems to be the case, according to recently updated statistics via the press section of instagram.com.

The app now has 90 million monthly active users generating 40 million photos on a daily basis.

Company co-founder Kevin Systrom signaled in a report from All Things D that the company was experiencing expansion. “With many of the product and internationalization improvements we’ve made, we’ve been excited to see these efforts resonate with users globally,” he commented in the article.

So exactly how much of an uptick in user activity do the latest statistics represent? Users expanded by 10 percent from December to this month, according AllThingsDigital’s analysis of the stats.

In December, Instagram moved to change its privacy policy with new stipulations allowing the app to sell user photos. Despite that, the company denied those were its intentions.
