(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Despite a supposed fix for a lock screen vulnerability, it now appears the issue is still a problem for Apple devices.
According to a blog post from security firm Sophos on Thursday, YouTube user videosbedarraquito discovered the flaw, highlighting it with a video.
“In a video he demonstrates that it’s not particularly complicated to avoid the iOS 6.1.3 passcode lock if you have physical access to the device and a widget for removing the SIM card,” explained Sophos senior technology consultant Graham Cluley via the company’s Naked Security blog.
There is, however, a way to ensure your phone’s safety. Users can simply disable what’s called “voice dial.”
iOS 6.1.3 was launched just recently and is notable for halting the popular Evasi0n jailbreak. In addition to that, Apple said it had made improvements to Maps for Japan.
