iOS 6.1 Lock Screen Proves No Match for Glitch

(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Uh oh! A bug in the latest version of iOS (6.1) could prove to have devastating implications for Apple mobile users.

According to a report from PCMag.com on Thursday, a YouTube user has detailed a bug that allows someone to circumvent device lock screens – thus allowing them to view contacts, texts, complete actions, among a number of features.

The action apparently relies on the use of two phone systems but also affects older versions of iOS including 6.0.1 and 6.0.2.

“Easy trick that allows bypass an iPhone’s passcode and get full access (see and edit) to contacts list, list of recent calls, favorite contacts, and even make a call to any phone number on the hacked device and erase the log,” reads the video’s description on YouTube. The poster also describes it as a way to “prank your friends.”
