(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – iOS 7 could face a delay due to an expansive software overhaul initiated by Apple Senior VP of Industrial Design Jonathan Ive, a Bloomberg report signaled on Wednesday.
The matter arrives before the company’s annual WWDC event is set to kick off in June.
Citing an unnamed source, Bloomberg said Ive had been busy “revamping” iOS applications – one of which included the removal of wood bookshelves for Newsstand.
Ive was said to be pushing more collaboration between Apple’s hardware and software divisions. Developers from the company’s Mac team are also reportedly being brought in to help finish iOS 7’s development before WWDC.
Late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs once referred to Ive as his “spiritual partner” in an interview with biographer Walter Isaacson.
