(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – As part of a recent patent loss ruling, Apple Inc. faces a ban on mobile devices including some versions of the iPhone 4 and iPad 2.
The Cupertino-based tech provider received the import ban after it was found to be in violation of rival Samsung’s patents by a U.S. court.
While it’s definitely a pain in the company’s side, it probably won’t have much impact on U.S. retail sales where the device versions aren’t thought to be sold as widely as they once were.
Meanwhile, retailers aren’t fearing the impact.
“We anticipate minimal, if any, impact for customers wanting an iPhone 4 or iPad 2 — both of which remain available in AT&T retail and online channels,” stated AT&T in a report from Bloomberg.
Before becoming official, the important ban carried out by the International Trade Commission can be overturned by U.S. President Barack Obama.
Apple is allowed to continue selling the devices during a 60 day review period.
