(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Apple is reportedly gearing up to release its highly anticipated iPhone 6 that is expected to launch in September.
According to Mashable, Apple reportedly delayed the launch of its 5.5-inch model as a way to avoid competition with its 4.7-inch version.
KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted earlier this month that the larger “phablet” version would most likely be released in 2015 due to problems with in-cell touch panels and technical issues with the sapphire crystal display screen, noting that it will not “easily pass the drop test near term.”
Apple’s next flagship device is said to include many new features such as wireless charging, 4G antenna, sapphire crystal screens to prevent scratching, 3D graphics, curved glass display, and come equipped with Apple’s A8 processor.
A recent leaked photo from French technology website Nowhere Else revealed that the new iPhone will feature a near field communication chip that will allow a new mobile payment system to be integrated into the smartphone, coinciding with previous reports of a NFC chip.
Additionally, iOS 8 will be on the device, adding an updated version of Siri with a music recognition system, more advanced features in spotlight, and the new Healthbook app that gives users the ability to track their sleeping patterns, heart rate, and calories burned.
